![]() ![]() We came up with three custom solutions and calculated the landed cost per unit to make it easy for the customer to make a decision. Our SolutionsĪfter the fact-finding calls, Freight Right’s team got to work on some solutions for the customer. ![]() This was costing the client thousands of dollars for each container. Unfortunately, the results of this seemingly well-intentioned planning resulted in the extra expenses of unloading the refused containers, palletizing, and re-delivering them with two trucks. The factory, like most logistics operators, was optimizing the space in the container achieving an impressive 90%+ container utilization (See image below). The fact that the boxes were stacked too high in the container made it unsafe for two people to hand-carry the boxes, which made the problem even worse. Unfortunately, at 80-90lbs per box, the goods were too heavy for one person to unload (Amazon and OSHA regulations limit the weight per box to 50 lbs for manual labor).ģ. Generally, Amazon would use manual labor to remove the top layer of boxes, leaving the ones facing in the same direction which would be clampable. As a result FBA forklift operators were unable to use clamps to unload the boxes.Ģ. To optimize the space in the container, the factory was loading some of the boxes upright, others sideways, and topping them off with another layer of boxes loaded flat. ![]() The reason for refusal that FBA gave was that the contents are “unsafe to unload.” Freight Right’s Import team contacted the Relay Operations Center (ROC), as well as the FBA facility manager and was able to find out that there were 3 underlying issues with the way the factory in China was loading the containers.ġ. *These requirements apply to both individual boxes, and boxes loaded on pallets for truck transport.Īn Amazon FBA warehouse frequently refused floor loaded containers for one of Freight Right’s clients. For example, Canadian tracking numbers might start with TBC and Mexico might start with TBM for AMAUS shipping. For every LTL and FTL shipment sent to Amazon, there are certain requirements that shippers and carriers are responsible to complete. If you are outside of the United States, you may see a slightly different tracking number. If your order is in transit and on a truck and you don’t want to log into your account, you may have luck with entering your Tracking ID into, but I have never gotten it working. Once your order is on an Amazon truck, the delivery status progress bar will update to “shipped” and “Shipped with AMUS” will change to “Delivery by Amazon”. AMAUS tracking numbers will start with TBA. You’ll then see a “Tracking ID” which starts with “TBA” and is followed by 12 numbers, such as: TBA010284627509 or TBA039085637403 as an example. You’ll want to click on the “Track package” button. There, you’ll see a history of your previous orders in a list. To find your tracking number, head over to the Your Orders page. Not only do they have their own delivery trucks and fulfillment warehouses, the e-commerce giant has leased 12 Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft, bringing its air fleet to above 80 jets. Amazon has created their own logistics network so they have more control over the costs and efficiencies of their deliveries. These designators just mean that instead of using carriers like FedEx, UPS, or USPS, Amazon is using its own set of delivery people and trucks. ![]() Once your item ships, the shipping name is often changed to ” Delivery by Amazon“. In the United States you may also see abbreviations such AMZL_US. You may see different abbreviations if you are getting a shipment from Amazon Logistics in another country, such as AMAUK for packages in the United Kingdom. You’ll often seem them with their blue branded Amazon vans, but may also be delivered to you by someone independently contracted using the Amazon Flex program were they will be using their own private vehicles. This just means that is is being shipped with Amazon’s own delivery service. If you’ve purchased something from and go to check your tracking, you may be surprised to see it saying “Shipped with AMAUS”, instead of “Shipped with USPS” or other carrier. ![]()
